Brooklyn Park Voles

We see our fair share of Voles in Brooklyn Park. Recently we have been seeing an increase of frustrated homeowners due to the back and forth with snow cover. Typically when the snow arrives in Minnesota it stays all the way until spring. This helps voles tremendously!

Leisurely Destructionists

Voles get to destroy your yard at their leisure over the course of the winter undetected due to the ever-present, thick snow cover. As homeowners, we have no idea about the mayhem that is occurring right below those accumulating layers of snow. Even though this year the snow cover has been very back and forth, we all know the green grass is not going to be visible for much more of the winter season. With the recent favor Mother Nature has done of pulling back the curtains on these pesky critters and what they are doing when they think we can’t see them, make sure to act quickly.

Herbivorous Foragers

During the winter voles feed on grains, seeds, bark, roots, etc. With this diet, they are consuming their body weight in food each day just to survive! On top of that since voles do not store food they are actively foraging each day causing even more damage. What may start out as just a pair or handful of voles can quickly turn into a massive family. Voles have been observed achieving populations as high as 4,000 voles per acre! Their reproductive capabilities put them in the highest echelons of most difficult to control pests here in Brooklyn Park.

A Season of Hope

If you, like many other homeowners, have watched the snow in your yard melt recently only to find vole tunnels galore, call Rove! Do not feel like your window of opportunity has closed due to the winter season falling down up on us. Rove Vole Specialists have spent countless hours studying these creatures and working with them in various circumstances to best know how to tackle and solve your vole situation as quick as possible.
