Rove Pest Control – Anoka, MN

Afton Pest Control

One second you’re sitting with your husband, enjoying a movie, and the next moment there’s panic. A mouse is scurrying across your perfectly clean carpet. You frantically balance on top of the coach while your husband grabs the broom and swats at the mouse until it disappears—through a small crack in the wall.

Sometimes it takes seeing a mouse before you know that you have a mouse problem. During the late summer and early fall, mice like to come into the home before it gets cold. Your home is the ideal place for them to find food and stay warm.

They’ll stay the whole winter and then finally leave in the spring. Usually the first signs of mice are their feces. They have no discretion of where they leave their droppings. Other signs of house mice is gnawed furniture or plastic and a damp odor.

Older homes are bound to have mice because they are more likely to have openings and cracks in their foundation and other areas of the house. Unless all the cracks and seams are completely inspected and sealed, mice will get inside to take advantage of your warm furnace and the food in your cupboards. Do not ignore even small openings into your house. Mice can fit into cracks as small as ¼ inches. Other measures you can take are securing your food in glass or metal containers. Don’t place pet food outside, and keep the areas around your foundation neat and trimmed.

If you gave house mice traumatizing your family during movie nights, the best thing you can do is call a professional. Don’t let them spread disease and mess in your clean home.
