Plymouth Ant Control
Exhibitors, activities, and 90,000 people. The Green Street Fair attracts large numbers of people. Sometimes numbers can be difficult to conceptualize. For the Fair, it helps me to remember that we have a population of about 9.000 people here in Plymouth. That means that each resident, from pampers to depends has about 10 corresponding people visiting the fair. That is pretty astounding. A swing in attendance like that requires crowd control. When we turn our attention to our homes, businesses and yards; we have another sort of crowd control on an even larger scale. Ants. Plymouth ant control needs to be pre-planned and in place for best results.
As a kid, I would sit and watch a trail of ants and wonder how often the pattern was repeating. If I could flag Arnie the ant passing by, how long would it take for him to come back the other way and how many times was I seeing Arnie? My young brain had no idea about the numbers I was dealing with. Here are some typical ant populations that are Plymouth ant control foci:
- Carpenter ant – total population of 15,000 ants per colony
- Odorous house ant – 100,000 ants per colony
- Acrobat ant – small population to thousands per colony
- Big headed ant – 300 per colony
- Pavement ant – 4,000 ants per colony
- Pharaoh ant – large range from 100 to several hundred thousand workers per colony
- Thief ant – a couple hundred to several thousand per colony
It is important to know which ants are present and have a specific “crowd control” plan in place.
Ants can pop up quite suddenly. Once a colony gets established, they are ready to defend its stake on its territory. In order to avoid having to deal with the annoyance of ants invading kitchens, bathrooms, and backyard picnics; the following Plymouth ant control tools may be implemented:
- Regular inspection
- Food source limitation
- Perimeter defense
- Habitat alteration
Early implementation is beneficial, but it is never too late to start. Expertise also goes a long way in simplifying the process and identifying adjustments that need to be made.
At the fair, each exhibit highlights its own expertise. It is a good reminder for us that we rely on experts for a reason. There is simply too much information to try and know everything as an individual. The ant experts at Rove Pest Control keep up on the latest ant trends as well as product and control methods to keep ants off of your exhibits so you can display your unhindered expertise at home and work.
